June Curriculum Activities: When You Wish Upon A Star!

Zoom, Zoom, Zoom, We are Going to the Moon - and Beyond! In June, we will be putting our space helmets on and jumping into the unknown! What shapes are planets, stars, & rocket ships? It’s time to find out as the children practice 3D shapes by building structures as their artworks. We will also be creating our own Solar System and practice our presentation skills when we show it to our class! There will be a Space Dance (a dance performance with our favorite space moves) & be sure to check out all the fun things we will be doing in the calendar below!

What Are Our Teachers Learning About!

We never stop learning and even our teachers have their own monthly learning goals. In June, our teachers learn more about how to teach science to children in a fun and engaging way!

Tim Walker, the Finnish education expert, author of multiple books, and articles featured in The Atlantic, is coming to our school!  Mr. Walker is an American educator who was fortunate to spend multiple years teaching in Finland. He experienced firsthand the many practices that propelled Finland to international acclaim as a global education leader!

Mr. Walker had initially planned to come to our school in early August but he is now needing to remain in Finland until mid August. He will be at our school the week of August 21.
